Iran is one of the most ancient countries in the world which has survived many outsiders invasions and maintained the concepts of its heritage, language and culture.
Tehran has been the capital of Iran only since 1796. Before that, many other cities had been the capital of the country.
Persian, which is a Western Iranian language, is the official language in Iran. However, there are many people in Iran who speak in other Western Iranian languages, like Kurdish, Luri, Balochi, etc, and non-Iranian languages, like Azeri and Arabic.
